I like your take of George's song. Tom Waits is very unique and his voice is very rude and raw like P90 pickups.
I seen Waits on TV for the first time maybe 25 years ago. He sang a song off of the Franks Wild Years album, playing a piano with an old mechanic shop light if I remember correctly. Bought that album and I really liked it. He is just so completely different than anyone else it's refreshing.
Jon, I did enjoy it. I keep coming back trying to learn it the way you did it. I have the licks somewhat down, but so far, my timing and singing are ba ba ba bad
Yeah, I've never been able to do much with the finger-picking. I'm a huge fan, myself. I even have a vintage Gibson ES-125 Unfortunately, without the cutout body, so not an exact match), mostly because that's what he plays.
And, I love Tom Waits, as well. But, you have to admit that his vocal stylings are...unique? Is that a good word for it?
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed my little stab at George's song.
I'm a huge George Thorogood fan. George does not use a guitar pick. He only uses his fingers to play. I love the tone he gets with his Gibson guitar which has P-90 pickups on it. Those P-90 have a little ruder and rawer sound.
Excellent. You had me in the first few seconds. You got those licks down thoroughly good. Good vocals and a great looking and sounding guitar. Cool art work in the back ground. Huh, that little box on the back worked well.

Great job Jon

I like Tom Waits voice.
Nice playing and nice build by the way.
Jon, your vocal style worked great on this song.
Thanks, guys. I have struggled with this thing, trying to make it sound the way I wanted.
Uncle John: I'm still trying to follow your advice on the vocals. I'm still not great but, I figure if Bob Dylan and Tom Waits can sing in public...
