  Yes John Wesley was a preacher and his Chapel still stands near the city centre.  Apart from that there is Hanham Beacon which is now surrounded by suburban housing. That's where John gave his "Sermon on the Mount" to the people of Bristol .You're right, Charles is probably not that well known about - even to Bristolians !
