Aww thank ya so much,my friend!!!...Agreed ,Denbo. I try to get tone first and then try and work back and forth to a crescendo ,by building it up and bringin back down... I stopped using a pick for the most part and now on bass as well as guitar I'm a thumb plucker. I seem to be more in touch with the instrument without the pick.Nevrtheless ,faster stuff and mando definitely have to have a pick. But in summation ,fast is cool ,but there's always someone faster and if you look on youtube nowadays,it's usually a seven year old,I kid you not....hahahahaa...
Thanks so much ,Greg ,preciate that. I really dig the one string fretless bass immensely..My friend just built it.I actually like it more than my two string or either of my four string basses.Plus ,my friend made it with 24 frets,so thats a three octave range to slide to..Thanks again ,cheers..

Above the Frey is a much better place to be like closing my eyes and listing the great bass line and great picking/slide.
