That really sucks, Shane. I have gotten 9 copywrite claims on my channel for covers, but none counted as a strike. The info YT provided stated that ads may run on my video and any revenue will go to the owner. I have never qualified for monetization anyway, so no harm so far. I never knew they could take your channel down. I have heard some of the big time YT guys I subscribe to that do make revenue have several vids taken down but they were still on YT.

A copyright owner asked us to take down your video because they believe it contains material that violates their copyright.
As a result:
If you get 3 copyright strikes, your account (along with any associated channels) will be subject to termination.
Holey buckets, Shane. What the heck? This is all new and scary to me. I've done MANY covers of songs on youtube and not heard anything from them about copywrite strikes.
Man, this is upsetting. What other site are you using instead? Crap. Well, I really thank you for telling us about this. Better to know it might happen.
Hang in there and find a way. Maybe you get hit harder because of your radio program??
