2010 MUNY Audition Submission / Summer Busking 2007 - 2009

Every year, MUNY (Music Under New York) holds auditions for a life time pass to play in Grand Central Station. Over 500 performers submit audition videos. Of these, about 70 are invited to live auditions held in Grand Central station. Out of these, less than 20 are selected. I was invited twice to the live auditions, but due to the high level of competition, I did not make the cut. Maybe three is the charm!

    Thank you for your encouragement. MUNY is a community of musicians. They only offer about 20 openings a year for a life time pass to play in Grand Central Station. The quality of performance is broad. You end up going against professional NYC classical musicans, but I am told, they have positions open for different levels. It can take many auditions before you get in. I guess they figure, if you keep coming back, you really want to be part of the community. To tell the truth, being your best in the 5 minute audition, is real tough. I do much better on the street after a few warm up songs. LOL Enjoy.

    Thank you Ken (Noisemaker). The Competition is steep and the openings are few. They tell me if you keep applying and continue to get invited to the auditions, eventually your turn will come and they will bring you in. It is for a lifetime pass (as long as they, MUNY, continues to have the contract with Grand Central!) So, slow and steady wins the race. Just gotta be the little engine that could. Enjoy.
