  • 8 low cost D cells? those were the days... : )

    Totally awesome amp! Great find.

  • Sounds good, nice crunch

  • Ah, the troll doll was from the 1969 them.

  • nice sounding amp, loved the troll doll I can remember when they first came out, woops now I am telling my age

  • At least it still sounds good

  • That was a fair chunk of money in 1969.   But it sounds pretty good.  Good playing too.   Good rockabilly.

  • From the 1969 Radio Shack catalog:

    Realistic Carnival 5 Guitar/PA Amplifier

     Battery Operated!    8” Speaker                                                  $29.95

    Big Sound 5 Watt Amplifier!

    Dual Input and Controls!

All solid state. Compact design for convenience on the go, in the home or dance hall, anywhere! Great for the beginning guitarist striving for that really big sound! Or for anyone else who really wants to be heard! 2 inputs for instruments and/or microphones. Independent volume control on both inputs allows mixing of high and low tones. High/low tone switch. Operates on 8 low cost “D” cells.
