Ok...it's not a CBG! BUT... without the skills & confidence I got by building CBGs and tips/lessons from the community here...this probably would have been destioned for the trash bin.

A basket case when I got it about 10 years ago. Sat on my bench since then! Work done: a neck removal/ reset & plane out a small hump. Glue some loose braces...

  • Oh, taht is a nice old git.   And I love the Red's sticker.   Sounds fantastic in your bluesy hands.

    • Thanks Uncle John!  Even though I don't stop by here as much as I used too..I do miss your videos of you covering some blues classics. When I hear the originals (as I listen to a variety of old time music)...I think of your rendition..Patton, Blind Lemon...etc. Haven't seen a new offering from you in a while...hopefully you're doing well & can get back in front of the camera!

  • A lot of mojo in that guitar! Great to see it back in action. Well done.

  • It looks like someone tore the upper frets out and put a ticket stub there. Wild.

    • Yep...that was me! The body is very sunken in at that point with action too high...so I thought up this sceme...like I walked out of Red's Juke Joint with their house guitar!!

  • Kool, you gonna clean up the finish too? I had a cream colored one that's pretty similar to yours. It was a slide machine, especially with a pickup!

    • Nope...keeping it looking ragged. Yes...these take to a slide very well!
