Yes would look better neck inside the box! As for tuners I would have used smaller if there is such a thing, as for wingnuts there might be an issue with one nut hitting the other but im sure there is an easy fix fot that somewher!

Several interesting ideas that I've gotta try. Clearly this guy has some woodworking experience as well as playing guitar.

Although (1) I'd want to sand a D-curve on the back of that neck and (2) I'd put some wing nuts on those eye bolts and (3) I would not want to cut a slot for the neck into the box lid that's gonna be my soundboard.

Whoa! That's good. At first I thought that was you Scruggy and I thought "we can't tell you anything" but we can all learn something from this! Oh my, that reminds me why I'm not a big fan of chisels unless you have a real good touch.
