"I am using a 25.5" scale length with medium strings. This particular CBG does not have a heel. It was the first electric I built. I did not add a fret board, simply wood burned the fret lines. Thanks for the info."

Neck is bowing

I have been building my CBG's with 1 X 2 maple. I have given one to a friend and he says that the neck is starting to bow. Is this a problem others have seen and any suggestions on how to prevent bowing would be welcome. Thanks.See More

"Hi Lou, great machine to have. However I cut my scarf joint on a drop saw suitably jigged up. The jig on the bandsaw is used for gluing the two bits together without slipping apart. Using nails and such does not gel with me. Taff "

"You can thin the headstock to 5/8 from the top or bottom. I generally do mine by removing material from the top so I don't have to fiddle as much with the transition from the back side of the neck to the headstock but it's doable. Taking…"
