after reading for months and a half dozen different ways from step by step, to "Just throw that wood in there and go."
After getting all the oak etc... I have a pile of cigar boxes.. Wood... Pickups that I have bought, made and crafted...
I am nervous lol... I want my first guitar to work... So I guess I will never know until I build it. The fret board is the making me nervous part I guess

Good advice here, Tim. Keep the first one simple and your expectations low. Hope it comes out a winner.
Tim.
I have some idea how you feel. Every time I am a bit unsure about how to proceed I just stop dead. I find that really slows me down and it happens quite often. Sometimes it is good to take time to think things through, but sometimes it just becomes a delay for its own sake. If you realise that that is happening the only thing to do is make a decision that you will start on a certain day and stick to that.
Good luck.
Ha, thanks guys!
Tim,
When you learned to walk, did you get it right the first time?
The making-you-nervous part is called the "fret board" for a reason: you'll fret over how much time it takes to get it right. Find a skanky old piece of pine you don't like. Consciously fret it incorrectly. There. Now you're over that mistake. Get another crappy piece of pine, do that one right.
Go throw up in the corner. Feel better now? You will make mistakes. Go throw up in the corner again.
Measure twice, cut once.
Tim ,, that ,,too,, will pass ,, it s just like making love ,, once u do it once ,,u can t ever get enough !!!!!
Its just wood. Jump right right in.
just throw a couple of boxes over this way.....and your worries will pass.....
