  • I made my first bottle neck slide by cutting the neck off a wine bottle with a Tile Saw.It took hours of fine sawing, but still chipped a bit at the ends and I had the seam to remove.Hours more sanding, going from about 80 grit paper through to 1200 wet and dry paper, then finished off with 2 different types of toothpaste.Remember to sand around the slide rather than along it,as the strings pick up the tiny scratches(learned this the hard way). After the best part of 2 days sawing, sanding and polishing,I've got a nice sounding little slide, but I'll have to find an easier way before I start the next one!
  • If your bottleneck fits snug on your finger, just position the seams out of your way. You could also use Crocus cloth to sand glass smooth. Enjoy.
  • Use old bottles with no moulding seam.

Or yeah, you could grind & polish the seam out if you want.

And BAH re: the biscuits. :-P
  • yeah ive got the same problem too
Look forward in hearing what ppl say about this...............
