Greetings From NPR: Thanks for the reply to my discussion comment. Would love to get together and ask you some questions so I can get started on my first CBG. Don't know how to do this. I was going to start yesterday, then I realized I don't even know how to begin. I've got the wood, the tools, but didn't buy the hardware yet. Alice Saxe
Hey, I meant to leave a message on the friend request. I am new to the site but I live in Clearwater and you're close. I recently fell in love with one string instruments and would love to talk to you about making them. Your slideshow is great, the instruments are beautiful!! Anyway talk to you soon
Hey there - That was funny running into you like that... Anyway in the Fox Fire book there is an entire section on building Banjos. There might be some ideas on creating that neck joint you were talking about. Also the finish I use is Deft I buy it a Lowes in the spray cans. For me the trick is many light coats with sanding in between... I am going to update some photos of my recent builds 4 string two bottle wine box resonator I am sending to Keni lee a little later today. Take care
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
Hi there, thanks for your comment on my guitar. Just finished my second build and I think I am slowly but surely getting better. I like your basses! I might have to have a go at one I think.
all the best, Anthony
Just got back home from my vacation to the family farm in Finland. Have some birch to dry there and brought some with me. Finished my first CBG there and I'll post some pictures later today of the old workshop and the CBG. :-)
