I'm building a couple of Bento Box ukes from C.B.Gitty. I have not glued the box, so my pictures have it held together in some painter's tape. But I wanted to show it off as is, partly to help people…Continue

Variety of ways sound can be amplified with them. Resonators, piezos, pick-ups. Even the surprising loudness of cardboard construction by itself. It's bigger than the old traditional acoustic vs electric guitar rivalry. And the entire lute family has representation.

I'm not sure where to post this yet, but while it's on my mind; I've been struggling about making my first CBG with the conflict between making a very tradition-looking and/or sounding CBG vs. a "hot rod" with modern electronics, and I got a breakthru: science-fiction themed post-apocalyptic CBG. I imagine some people somewhere have already thought of this; why not make a CBG with the (conceptual) leftovers of future collapsed civilization, not just today's or yesteryear's junk? Mix found materials with whatever expensive components I have access to? Maybe it's silly, but if this is going to be art project, I need to have a excuse to put whatever I want into it. Dystopian Box Guitar is it!

Iived in Marlboro, worked in Framingham GM plant.  Think I might have gone to Ahhhlington once to watch my daughter play soccer, over 40 years ago.  I bet you don't miss the traffic, I moved to south Boston Virginia, When I go back to Mass. it's scary.  I can say, noone has given me the one finger salute for 17 years.  Small town in old south, police wave when they pass. nobody flipping us off, my wife said, don't they like us here?  Back to work. Gordon again, I just saw your post about the Post-apoc. theme being silly..  I don't think silly exists with these things.  Its like the musical theater of the absurd.  That's the fun I guess. I'm old, what apeals to me is elegant and nice tone. , But what do I know.  I bought a Guitar with a dog dish resonator without a strait line or a true rt.angle on it.  Check out cbgs made by Lenny Perrot in Montreal, Pappa Mojo cbgs..  They make great cbgs, Thats off-set by the fact that as a French Canadian, he roots for Le Habs.  I'm from Boston. Guitars are great, Hockey team sucks.  Did you get so see RAY bOURQUE wHEN HE CAME FROM bOSTON AND WON THE sTANLEY cUP FOR  cO.  He is God in boston.  Him and Bobby Orr.  Talk to you later   G  (SWamp dog hog whiner)
