Called this one "Southern Comfort" as it just kind of sounds like it's from down South. Antique enamel slosh pot lid reso, tin can reso holes, 27 1/4" scale, Geiger Electric yardstick out of York, Nebraska fretboard, oak neck w/ cherry heel, burnt fret markers, walnut fret dots, bass pup pickup w/ black chrome skull volume knob, chrome skull tuners, antique skeleton key saddle w/ yardstick bridge, old square barn nail for the nut. She's saddled up with heavy Blues Breaker strings tuned DAD.

Thanks S.D.! I guess living in the middle of "farm" country has it's advandages as we have an abundance of yardsticks available. I don't think I've ever paid more than 3 bucks for one. I am a yardstick hoarder though as I have quite a collection :-)
Maddog, of all yr awesome builds, I think this one is my favorite. Just really well put together. Perfect. I used to be able to find cheap old advertising yardsticks around here, but now everybody is asking between $10-30 (?!?) for the older ones with decent subject matter. Have you checked ebay? It is insane. What the hell? I guess people collect these things I mean, I will gladly pay 2-3 bucks maybe even 5 for a cool old ydstk, But not $30 just because it came from some Ford Dealership or an oil company.

Thanks Craig, yardsticks are dead on for a 3 banger. I have some really wide ones that are going into 4's.
It's great ain't it Randy, when they're that plentiful they can usually be had for a song also.
Nice job, Maddog. I'm using a yardstick for a fb on one of my current builds. Perfect width for a 3-string.
Yeah Pat that's how it is here too, every farm store has a barrel of them.
Thanks Randy! Living in the middle of "Farm" country like I do we have a LOT of old yardsticks floating around :-)
Looks like yard stick fretboards are coming back again. Like the setting there Pat, looks like your ready for a good time.
