  That box is 1920-ish and the stick/neck is from the same era. Its a "square" yardstick that a lot of lumberyards gave away during the 20's and 30's. I made it into a 1 string bass diddley bow with the addition of pu cord....

  that didley on the top is sure cool looking.didn,t realise how neat it looks to have the stick thru as long as you have it on the bottom of the box.
