I thought this sequence might be helpful to some of the newer builders that want to experiment with more complex head stocks. I started with a scarf joint(using a technique I learned from Josh/Smokehouse) and glued on wings made from the end piece cut off when making the neck length for the box and scale length. This way they match pretty well if that is what you want. I split the end piece before cutting it off then flip the "good" sides in and glue them on. Then I traced this on paper so I know how much room I have to to make the shape I want.
