  • Neat looking pair! Educational.. and the photo and the title does it for me too Doug!

  • Thanks AGP! After further playing the longer scale length sounds better, but the strings are still settling down on the shorter one, so I will need to play it some more. The tonal characteristics of the weedwacker string make it sound kinda like you are playing a muted bass line as you strum.

  • Thanks Pick, cool idea with the spring; that may come in handy down the road!

  • HECK . I CANT REMEMBER HALF MY IDEAS ,, LET ALONE  WHERE I GOT THEM FROM .  OR EVEN  IF THEY WERE ORIGINALLY MINE OR NOT . LOL. BUT HAVE AT IT ;-)

can't even remember to turn caps lock off  ;-)

  • "Cool Couple of Builds Doug", and Wow! Pick, where on Earth did you get that idea from, I've been saving the springs from old Biro's for years, and I do have a Weed Whacker One String Gourd Diddley, that wil now have a Mag Pup added to it, hope it works ??  ;-)

  • Cool. ..... Heres a lil tip for ya ..  for  a one stringer weed whacker guit . Take the little spring out of a click pen . and slip it onto the weedwhacker line .   Then you can use it with a mag pickup . just place it over the pickup area ..  . You may need  to crimp the edges to make it stay , depending on your string gauge  . makes a cool lil base  type onestringer .
