actually i put the dowels in the bottom of the box to let the sound out of the cake pan better. thanks for the compliment. the dowels also help to put the can closer to the top of the box. you are correct on both in theory.
Back tracking through the photo section. Just found this. You've got to be our expert-in-residence for reso builds! Mind if I ask a question? Are the two sticks supporting the cone to let the sound out of the cone base, or simply to give the cone the right height in the cigar box?
