Here's my latest (5th) build:Tenor ukulele, rosewood fretboard and saddle, corian nut & bridge, copper headstock and inlay dots, maple neck, maple sides and back of box, cedar sound board. Finished with Tru oil. This is the first box that I've built from scratch. I was inspired when a friend (who ended up with this instrument) dropped off a bunch of baseboards from a 100-year-old house reno. He wasn't sure what the wood was, but one whiff told me it was cedar. I re-sawed the board on the bandsaw, planed it down to 3mm and bookmatched the pieces. This box sounds as good as my Kala uke. A little warmer sound from the cedar but plenty of punch and volume. I was a little sad to sell it, but I learned a lot from this build.
