Tillman pre my build

Tiny and simple enough to build on perfboard. 6 components, long battery life, sounds good and get's your piezo's impedance corrected. Better low end too. I use a 25k vol and 50k tone pot (.047uf) after this.

  • Thanks Glenn....really helpful stuff!
  • Yeah...I use log for both. There's no particular advantage in linear pots - my opinion. 50k vol and 25k tone, or two 50k. I think mixing the 50k and 25k gives better tonal range over the travel of the tone pot, but experiment for yourself.

You can't always rely on A/B because different makers mark them differently. Generally B is log, but not always.

Piezo > Tilman > vol and tone just the same as a magpup would.

    cheers

  • Oh yes, what type of pots do you use for the volume and tone, I ALWAYS get the whole "A/B" - "log/linear" thing confused.
  • Hi Glenn,

I'm going to be building a couple of these. I have the layout diagrams to help and I'm confident with that, however.... I'm a un schooled "I gets it if I sees a picture" type guy. I don't suppose you have an image of how you wire in the volume pot, the tone pot and resistor? I'd love to get these options going as well.

    Hope you can help!
