Tiny and simple enough to build on perfboard. 6 components, long battery life, sounds good and get's your piezo's impedance corrected. Better low end too. I use a 25k vol and 50k tone pot (.047uf) after this.

Yeah...I use log for both. There's no particular advantage in linear pots - my opinion. 50k vol and 25k tone, or two 50k. I think mixing the 50k and 25k gives better tonal range over the travel of the tone pot, but experiment for yourself.
You can't always rely on A/B because different makers mark them differently. Generally B is log, but not always.
Piezo > Tilman > vol and tone just the same as a magpup would.
I'm going to be building a couple of these. I have the layout diagrams to help and I'm confident with that, however.... I'm a un schooled "I gets it if I sees a picture" type guy. I don't suppose you have an image of how you wire in the volume pot, the tone pot and resistor? I'd love to get these options going as well.
