Here you can see my lump of clay has shrunk and a bat full of slides is growing. Still trimming and fussing to get them as smooth and even as I can. The clay is Grolleg Porcelain

Thanks Bones, Wal, Marc. I've been using a glass med. bottle lately that Tony gave me. It's real smooth and light. My ceramic slides sound about the same but a tad heavier. I throw stubby to long for variety's sake. My slides are not "perfect" shaped. Mine have some character to them. Each is different inside and out. The inside is tapered somewhat so you get a good fit that won't slide off as easy as a manufactured "perfect" slide. The new batch still needs glazing and firing. Soon as they are done I'll post the results. That will be a while as things move slow in the studio. By the holidays for sure.
You are right AGP. I do need to make the little guys. I have a brass tube just the right size for them just need to "start"! Clay slides will be fun too. I have a bead firing "tree". Glaze firing the little ones is tricky but the bead tree holds them just right.

I'm curious, does it sound "darker" (less high frequencies) than metal or glass slides?
"Beautiful Dave", but I can't see any small ones for the "The Wooden Hearts" Band :-)
