The Laurel has an 1/8 inch thick solid walnut face,a layered birch plywood body and a carbon fiber reinforced oak neck.

    JP, The neck is a 1/2" thick piece of oak with a 1/4" groove routered down the center and a carbon fiber rod epoxied into the groove. Then there is a 1/4" thick oak face glued over the top of that.
