The interchangeable "Stick"

This was a guitar I built as a demonstration piece for the Cigar Box Guitar project I did at the Junior High I teach at. The purpose behind the instrument was two-fold: to build an "Uncle Crow" style guitar (which was the type I had decided to do with the class), and also to demonstrate the difference different resonating bodies make in the sound...so it had to be possible to switch boxes for demonstration. This box is what it normally "lives" as - biggest box I had laying around, and now that the project at school is done, I may make this pairing more permanent...I also made a decision to make it as primitive-looking as possible, and not use guitar tuners for it. (Students were required to improvise tuners for their instruments, as well...)The neck wood came from a pile of donation wood...I think it may be bubinga. The fretboard came from a piece of mahagony that was rescued from a torn-down porch.Piezo built into the bridge, and the cigar tube mounted on the side of the neck near the bridge is to house the jack to plug into the amplifier...since the body on the instrument will change, I had to improvise a mounting area for the audio jack.
