Its a cabinet hinge ground in 1/2 with holes drilled in. Got that idea from CBN, though I cant find it to thank the person that posted it - thanks man!

When I "passthrough" the box with my neck, I angle the neck down a bit so that the strings will rise over the box top and allow for a better string break over the bridge. By cutting away the top of the neck where it passes through the box, it allows for this. It also makes room for my pickup and control plate on the boxtop...
