Just completed the fret-less 'San Cristobal Revelation' today, my second cbg build, so thought I'd post some pics with my first, it's fretted 'La Aroma De Cuba' sister, as they were built as a pair. Both have the same overall spec....Artec ceramic mini humbucker wired parallel/coil cut/series via a DPDT mini toggle switch, TT Electronics pots with 'orange drop' capacitors for the tone pots. Fretted has gold hardware with gold mother of pearl fret board/side marker dots and teardrop head stock inlay to carry the theme through from the sound holes, same on the fret-less but in paua abalone and with chrome and mirror polished stainless steel and aluminium hardware. Both are based on Chickenbone John 'basic parts' necks and are sapele with black walnut fret boards, as are the bridges, also from Chickenbone John, but with stainless and brass bolts added, both with head markings filed off, threaded ends rounded over and mirror polished with matching nut screws. Both cbgs have matching teardrop side cut sound holes (thanks once again to the very talented Rob Wrobel for the idea for those) with aluminium screens, gold anodised and painted gloss aluminium respectively, 25 1/2" scale lengths, and are strung 046w/030w/022w tuned GDG.
