for about a month. I finally finished it today.This is a Tahitian Ukulele and it’s completely different from anything I’ve ever built. I made the body and neck from scrap wood I got from local stair company. I laminate poplar and mahogany for the body and neck but I also have some black walnut and birch in there too.It’s an 8 string instrument. The strings are 30 lb test fishing line. I read that yellow or green are the best colors to use.The strings are tuned to a very high I lost momentum on this project for about a month. But I finally got my act together and wrapped it up today.It has a really interesting sound.I’ve never seen one in person before. Apparently, they are not mass produced. I found that very appealing.

It has a really cool sound. It's very high pitch and louder then I expected. It doesn't sound like a mandolin but it has the same effect that you get from instruments with doubled up strings. I like it a lot more then I expected
It's also very heavy, like a solid body electric guitar and has the sound hole on the back.
It's so weird but it's a perfect addition to my collection. If you are looking for a different kind of project. I would recommend it.
