  • Your using fishing line, so is it mono filament?  There is also copolymer line some places make. Knowing there is some stretch to regular line, was wondering if the copolymer would work better, as it doesn't stretch like regular line does. Just hope though, that no one ever tries using braid line, as it can be abrasive, and chew up ones fingers. Guys have cut their hands on it, trying to pull their hooks, that have gotten snagged. Just some thoughts.

  • You are very observant Kale! I have been going crazy with buzzing cigar boxes. I thought a custom sealed box was a potential solution and this way the neck can be mounted to the box from the outside. By putting the spacers at the edge of the box, I figured I could maximize the amount of the top that actually vibrates. It seems to work well.

  • Oh, I should've looked at this pic before posting my last comment. The sides are made of yardstick. Very clever. It looks like you created some plastic spacers at the front/back of the neck to give the top clearance. Again... very smart.

  • That is correct Brian! 2 yardsticks for the neck and exactly 1 yardstick for the sides (some times you get lucky!).

  • You only used  2 yardsticks for the neck?
