Suitcase Kick Drum a

  • Thanks David!

  • That's plain cool, love it

  • Yea Mike, EQ'd correctly at the sound board and these sound every bit as good as a top line kick! The mic sits on a small pillow with a foam pop filter on it. No effects, high set at +5, mid around -3 and the low end dimed. It'll be different through a diff board I'm sure. But those settings are a good place to start. A Shure PG 48 is actually what he has in there, I just checked. They're way cheaper than a 58 too...
  • Hey Vince - thanks for the tip!  I need to round up a couple of SM-58s.
  • Thanks dogfinger!  I have been thinking about electrifying it.  Will start with an old speaker and if it doesn't work I'll put a piezo element in it.
  • That's what my drummer uses at rehearsals and at small stage venues. We put an SM-58 mic in it and away we go! Sounds great too...
  • nice one mike, are you gonna electrify it?:0)
  • Hey James,

It is definitely worth it. It is a LOT of fun and really fits well with a cigar box guitar.  Post us a video when you get yours conjured up.  With your massive guitar tone it's gonna be good...
