The neck is a through-the-box construction, and is now joined together. I found it necessary to use a small plate at the end of the construction to join the heel of the neck to the box, because the string tension tended to pull at this joint. A one-piece neck would have avoided that, or joining the pieces in a kerf joint farther back, where it would be further strengthened when glued to the top of the box.
