the pick up is a hand wound little number. it's single coil rather than a humbucker, but to be fair it is so very quiet that there is zero noise from it anyway.the original top for the coil broke in half when i dropped it, so i went out to my fields and found a chunk of oak which i re-cut a smaller wooden cap from the heartwood.the coil was loose bound so before fixing the top on i potted it with a 2 pack epoxy.underneath the coil is a pad of leather to help stop interference.in each corner of the coil baseplate is a compression spring so that the user can adjust the coil height and angle across all dimensions.
