  • Hi, Champion!
Indeed, load of thanks for your reply.
    Once again, congratulations!
  • Sylver,

The neck is 1 x 2 inch oak that is the common at any builder supply store here in the US. (it is actually slightly less, but here in the US we round everything up ;-) ) The depth at the head is about 1/2 inch. We just eyeballed it with a hand rasp.

Any size box will work. You may just have a little extra space between the last fret and the box depending on your scale length. You could also use a shorter scale like 22 to 23 inch. Good luck with your build! Post pictures of your progress.

    Mike
  • Big thanks for your reply. I found a box 51/2 x 51/2 aprox. size and I was not sure if it would be right.
Good decision about the neck. I was wondering, what is the neck's deep you came up with by the part where the machine heads go?
  • Thanks very much! Box size is about 5 1/2 x 7 inch and 2 1/4 deap. Neck is mount to the short side because of the hinge.
  • What a great job!
Would you mind telling me what size is that box? Is to draw a physical idea, you know?
