I took a purple plastic slide whistle and covered it in a wood veneer from the inside of a cigar box. Making some brass brackets to mount it to my travel washboard. Plan on maybe adding an aged finish to make it look vintage. I sanded the plastic for some tooth, steamed the veneer over a teapot on one side only so it curled into a tube. Trimmed it to the right length to fit around. Then glued it on with tight bond and used a bunch of rubber bands as clamps.
