Trying out an idea I came up with so you don't have so much of the box volume taken up by the neck. Feels very stiff.

  • The finished guitar is the salmon box guitar in the video I posted.  Sounds great and is holding up well.  The neck can be unbolted and taken apart if anyone would ever want to.

  • The support is a hollow steel tube with a threaded rod going all the way through with a nut. There is a top for this box that will be glued on when it is all done.
  • What are you using for the support? That is a brilliant idea.
  • My thought was to leave this acoustic. I may add a piezo before it is all said and done, but I want it to play nice acoustic.
  • Until it is complete and strung up I won't know for sure how well it will work. It feels very strong and stiff put together like this.
  • think this will work really good boss, is this for an acoustic guitar so the sound board has noting on it ? you think you will put a pickup in this guitar ?
  • Nice idea, a bit more involved than I could do but looks like it will work well. I wonder how the metal internal neck will effect the sound? hmm.
