My first one has held up fine. I use Jatoba for the necks, and it's a pretty hard, dense wood. But, with only 3 strings, I don't think you would have a problem with any hardwood.
That looks so nice! I've thought about shaping the underside of the neck, but I'm concerned that removal of that much material will weaken the neck and make it more prone tobowing. How have yours held up?
