Didn't really have a plan for the headstock shape, just kind of went with the flow. You can't see if from this position, but the back curves up at the top, so the thickness is about 1/2" all the way up. I originally planned to just have the strings sit in guide slots at the end of the fret board, but the angle wasn't sharp enough to keep them from popping out. To fix it I cut one end off an angle bracket to pull them down. Not the most elegant look, but it works.
