Thanks Christopher! I'll take some interior shots and post sometime over the weekend. As for tools, nothing fancy - power sander for removing the paint from the box, router for shaping the neck, dremel w/ diamond cutter wheel for cutting the opening in the box for the neck (which extends all the way thru the box and is held in place with an L-bracket at the bottom ie. the two screws at the bottom center of the photo above), and cordless drill for holes (the holes would be a lot cleaner and more accurate if I had a drill press...). I couldn't have done it w/o the diamond cutter wheel - It's the only tool I have on hand that can cut thru stainless steel with any accuracy.
Robin, this is my favourite guitar on the nation. It's just dead cool. What does it look like inside? I'm about to start a reso build but then I saw this and thought maybe a full metal jacket is the way to go. Did you need a lot of tools to complete the build?
Paul, as acoustic it sounds okay but kinda quiet, I think because of the thickness of the stainless steel. The other metal one I built (the tin kid's tool chest) is much more trashy sounding (w/ trashy=good)
