  • Thanks Christopher! I'll take some interior shots and post sometime over the weekend. As for tools, nothing fancy - power sander for removing the paint from the box, router for shaping the neck, dremel w/ diamond cutter wheel for cutting the opening in the box for the neck (which extends all the way thru the box and is held in place with an L-bracket at the bottom ie. the two screws at the bottom center of the photo above), and cordless drill for holes (the holes would be a lot cleaner and more accurate if I had a drill press...). I couldn't have done it w/o the diamond cutter wheel - It's the only tool I have on hand that can cut thru stainless steel with any accuracy.
  • Robin, this is my favourite guitar on the nation. It's just dead cool. What does it look like inside? I'm about to start a reso build but then I saw this and thought maybe a full metal jacket is the way to go. Did you need a lot of tools to complete the build?
  • Paul, as acoustic it sounds okay but kinda quiet, I think because of the thickness of the stainless steel. The other metal one I built (the tin kid's tool chest) is much more trashy sounding (w/ trashy=good)
  • Cool, what does it sound like?
