scalloped fret board

re-did the neck on my first build, added a fret board using real fret wire instead of nails. decided to experiment with scallops. so far i like it! needs final sanding and finish to be done but i had to try it out

  • Wow. Thanks for posting the video. I had never heard of scalloped fret boards before.

  • yeah the reason i did it is cause with my big fat squishy fingers i have to press really hard to get the notes to be clear because my fingers touch the fret board before the string hits the fret. the scallops allow me to press the strings down with lighter pressure in order to touch the frets without my fingers hitting the fret board

     

  •  scallops allow  for a super light  touch   enabling   very  highspeed riffs .

    if you are  "bending"  you are  pushing way too  hard  .

  • Is the purpose of the scallops bending by pushing down?
