I also play this 4 string (in open G). All I did was cut off the top inch along with two of the tuning pegs, from a Baby Taylor guitar. That's about the limit of my woodworking skills.The neck is wide, and the action is great for fingerpicking. Its okay for slide, and the sound is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I cut down a guitar hole pickup for a regular guitar to fit and use for gigging. I now bring this mostly as a backup, in case a string breaks.
