Rust bucket

Finally! And it works! AutoRATic Rust Bucket. A. Prebora scater wound pickups. The neck is really heavy. I may add a slab of 3/4 ply to the back of this guitar to help even the weight out.

  • I am SO looking forward to playing at Kimmswick! This guitar is tuned to B F# B. The Glider will be in the standard open G.

Instead of adding weight to the body I'll be tying the strap to the headstock.

  • Great job, Rat. Sounds like you're ready for Kimmswick!

  • Beautiful guitar! Love your patina Cause!

  • The wood from the heal of the neck through the body is a 2 3/8 by  1 1/8 piece of 80 year old door. The rest, including the top is plywood. The neck is from Guitar Fetish. And it's solid. With only three strings I had to use the truss rod to create a back bow. You can see how the internal structure is on page 60 of the "What's on your Workbench" thread.

  • Frankenstein, what kind of bracing you do for the neck? Aftermarket or is that your neck? Looks like a bruiser
