This has become my preferred method for Rod piezo installs. I Like the sound much more than the disk piezo - not so much extra noise and warmer sounding. That is Industrial grade Banner tape to hold it in place.No soldering! The black rubber Heat shrink adds strength to the thin wire and also adds some electric buzz shielding as well, I think. It may be better yet to shield completely exposed wire. This has worked well so far on several builds. Acoustic strings sound better to my ear than electric ones. Nylon strings work with these pickups too.
