The gas mask aught to do it. I saw with a razor saw and there's no odor. What, don't you like the dentist?? I have no teeth.... The shim looks good, i'm glad it wasn't the sacrifice. I love laminates in contrasting wood..
Thanks Dave. I left the shim -I sort of like the way it makes it a little more "contrast-y". I just went with a smaller gauge brass screw for the nut. I really want to start making bone nuts but I can't stand the smell when I saw it, so I've been putting it off. I suppose what I NEED is an outdoor shop like you've got!

Boy this is a beautiful thing. Did you lower the action by taking out the shim under the bridge?
