  • Uncle John - pretty sure this was just a spray can of Rustoleum. Very easy to apply. Unsure how it will hold up. Initially I tried to rub off the old finish with #OOOO steel wool. I rubbed for hours. And hours. And hours. And... you get the picture. The wood still wasn't close to accepting a new stain. Plus the wood filler I used around the sound hole wouldn't accept stain the same as the surrounding wood, so I elected to just spray it. I wiped everything down with a tack cloth and cleaned it with mineral spirits. Paint went on fine, but it seems like a 'soft' finish and I wonder if I should have hit it with poly at the end...    Thanks for your kind words!

  • "Looking Good", like how you've done the Pup in the old sound hole  :-)

  • sweeeeet!

  • Okay, I see in the next photo.  Wood guitar.  Please tell me what paint you used and how easy is it to use and does it hold up well.  It looks so classic metal rez.

  • That looks wonderful.  Is that a wood guitar painted with metallic paint?
