Roughed in nut and headstock angle. Not sure how sturdy the 45 degree butt joint will be with 4 strings, but we'll see....This is my first time working with bone, and I've actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I haven't found the smell all that disturbing.

yeah bone is nice to work with , looks like you have used unbleached bone which dont smell of much , where bleached bone ..well smells of bleach ! i can't stand the smell of bleach it turns my gut big time lol!

looks great man, and although I dont have alot of experience in wood-working...I'd be pretty danged nervous stringing that up. I had cut a few necks like that with very little surface area in the past (much uglier than yours I might add), and they didnt hold spit.
