Antique enamel cookpot lid resonator, 26 1/4" fretless scale, Southern Yellow Pine barnwood neck/heel and body, Remington.22 caliber rifle shell fret dots, Remington 12 gauge shotgun shell volume knob, bass pup pickup, tin can soundholes, antique squarecut nail nut, skeleton key saddle. The wood for this git came from the sidewalls of an oat bin in an old barn, the property was owned by my Great Grandparents at one time and my Grandmother was born in the house on this property.

  • I tend to like the long scale gits too Ted, although my last few were of the normal scale. I tune the D strings  in DAD, AEA or GDG mostly. Any 1-5-1 tuning will work for the most part. Thanks so much for your kind comments, I appreciate it!

  • Thank you very much for the string infomation. I have never tuned a CBG in D before. it has all ways been in G.  I will give it a try. I have a few string gagues laying around that are close or the same.  But it's good to know Gitty has them. I like the Long scales CBGs, I think the long scales sound better.  I was checking out some of your pics last night. Maddog, man can you build them, and photograph them to. Great works of Art.!!!
