These are not as easy as they look. The trick is to find a 5/8 od tube coupling without a stop or with just a dimple stop. This is refrigeration tube stuff. Alternately 1/2 Id copper tube is the same. Check your finger sizes tho. My daughter likes 1/2 od and a biker buddy has to use 3/4 id. Then I lay em down on the vise and tap on one end to get a slight oval. Turn it 90 degrees and do it again. It ends up looking kinda strange but it fits nice and is easy for me to play with. Hope it helps somebody who needs a cheap o slide.

Bill,
Right now I'm using copper slides only.In my business I give each customer that buys a slide 3 string or a 1 string DB , a free copper slide.Their affordable , as you said and sound (considering cost) isnt bad either.
I buy it in the 8 or 10 ft lengths, and use tube cutters to cut off and make 5 to 10 at a time.
