I have a really nice Westone electric built by the legendary Matsumoto in the mid'80's. Since it was all red- inluding fingerboard, I thought I would try the same. The wings on the side are decorative, meant to give a more 'art deco' look. In the future I will build another with more natural wood and a shorter scale. The resonator is by Charles Atchison. This box is BOTH piezo and magnetic wired to the output. I find that the resonator gives the guitar a 'banjo-y' sound when played acoustically, but when plugged into an amp, it wails like a wolf with his foot caught in the car door.
