Yeah , shoot me if ya want , but , I took a late 50’s / early 60’s vintage Rickenbacker lap steel and morphed it into this .It was just the wood husk when I got it ,,. So it was not worth restoring to original ..It would have cost 10 times more to restore than buying one mint and original .Anyway .. it has a car light bulb encased in an antique telephone handset bar .This is to apply light so you can’t blame bad lighting on bad playing … but,… it is not hooked up and has no wires , and is fake , and does nothing but fool people into thinking you are not worried about blamining bad playing on bad lighting ;-)The switches complement the light that does not do a dam thing , and are fine tuned to do the same .The water knob acts as a diversion from the parts that don’t do a dam thing .. which probably won’t matter or have that effect ,, but at least it will detract from the fact that the knob don’t do a dam thing either . ;-)The slide holder is functional and holds a slide that was cut from a Harley handle bar .There rest is a basic cool FULLY WORKING LAP STEEL .ive got it set up as a 3 string and one bass .with a mini humbucker wired straight to jack .And it’s cool enough to forgive me for trashing a classic ;-)Leather , carpet tacs , cupboard Handel , embossed tin , slide holder and mojo ;-)
