Not sure what you mean by stand up bass Thomas, like the old double bass (probably the English name) they used to pluck by hand with a fretless neck? I remember a band with a bass player that used to climb up it while playing away, can't think of the band? Looked a lot like this :-
Jeeeeez, memories flooding back, skiffle groups with the old tea chest and a broom handle and a bit of string tied on, bet there are few guys left that can still play one. Thinking again could we find a tea chest? Sadly the advertising board is modern and made out of cardboard hence the drinkaware.co.uk, wonder what the old moonshine boys would make of that one? Will be up all night trying to think of the name of that band, not Bill Hayley and the comets? A fond memory of my youngest son when he was ten playing the bass in his socks and sitting down on stage to play his solo half way through "My generation", wish I could have afforded a video camera back then. Making me feel old but thank you for all those flash backs mate, all the best, Chris. :)
