Sorry, should have elaborated a little more. the thickness starts at 1" and they go down by 1/4. They also have them in the 1/16ths range, so as I was saying I have been able to find them at just about the perfect size for use as a fingerboard.
Hey Thanks PapaS, This one I used a pc of poplar. I have also used Red Oak and Maple. I have found all of them at Home Depot (though they can sometimes be a bit hit and miss) price is cheap and they can be found in in 1x2x2' and 1x2x3', least at my local. They run 2 to 3 bucks each and so far I have had to do minimum sanding, they tend to fit just right. Make sure you eyeball them though, they tend to have some dog legs in there sometime!
Nice build. Did you make the fingerboard? What kind of wood? I would like to make my own finger board. If I were to go Home Depot would they have wood cut in those dimensions?
